Roof Scuppers, Saddles & Door Pans

Custom Roof Scuppers & Scupper Drains - Portland, OR

PDX Panels fabricates custom roof scuppers and scupper drains for roofing contractors and GCs throughout Portland and Southwest Washington. Every scupper is brake-formed to your exact parapet thickness, opening size, and membrane height. Stock scuppers rarely fit a real wall. We make the one that does. Any material, no minimum order, quotes in 24 hours.

We also fabricate the two details that go hand in hand with parapet drainage: roof saddles (crickets) that divert water around chimneys and curbs toward the drains, and door pans that protect exterior door openings at the threshold. All three are made to your field dimensions or architect drawings.

Scupper Types We Fabricate

Every scupper on this page is brake-formed at our Portland shop to the dimensions you give us. Send the parapet wall thickness, face height, and inside opening width, and we fabricate the complete sleeve ready to install.

Through-Wall Scuppers

The standard scupper drain on a parapet roof: a formed metal sleeve that passes through the parapet wall and carries water off the roof surface. Fabricated to your exact wall thickness and opening size in galvanized steel, stainless, or copper, with the flange configuration your membrane system needs.

Open-Top & Closed-Top Scuppers

Open-top scuppers sit at the top edge of the parapet and take water over the wall. Closed-top scuppers are fully enclosed openings lower in the wall. We fabricate both, sized to your opening and membrane height, so the roofer can tie the membrane in cleanly.

Overflow Scuppers

Secondary drainage for when the primary drain or scupper clogs. Overflow scuppers are set above the primary drainage level per IPC code requirements, and they are usually the detail an inspector looks for on a parapet roof. We fabricate them alongside your primary scuppers so the whole drainage package matches.

Scupper Boxes & Collector Heads

The formed box that mounts on the outside wall under the scupper outlet, catches the discharge, and funnels it into a downspout. Also called collector heads or leader heads. We fabricate scupper boxes to your scupper size and downspout dimensions so the whole assembly fits together the first time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about custom roof scuppers & scupper drains - portland, or. Contact us for anything not covered here.

A roof scupper is an opening through a parapet wall or roof edge that lets water drain off a flat roof. A formed metal sleeve lines the opening and carries water through the wall, where it discharges to a downspout, a scupper box, or directly off the roof.

A scupper drains water sideways through the parapet wall at roof level. A roof drain sits at a low point in the roof deck and carries water down through internal piping. Scuppers are simpler, stay visible for inspection, and have no internal pipes to clog.

A scupper box, also called a collector head or leader head, is a formed metal box mounted on the outside wall below a scupper outlet. It catches the water coming through the scupper and funnels it into a downspout. We fabricate scupper boxes to match your scupper size and downspout dimensions.

Yes. We fabricate custom roof scuppers to your exact parapet thickness and opening dimensions in galvanized steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. Stock scuppers rarely fit correctly on commercial roofs. We size to your specific opening and membrane configuration. No minimum order.

Yes. We fabricate scuppers to match your exact parapet wall thickness. Provide the wall thickness, face height, inside width, and preferred material and we'll fabricate the complete scupper sleeve.

Parapet roofs commonly use overflow scuppers as secondary drainage, set above the primary drainage level per IPC code requirements, so water can still escape if the primary drain clogs. We fabricate overflow scuppers to your spec alongside the primary scuppers.

Yes. We fabricate custom roof saddles and crickets to your chimney width and roof pitch in galvanized steel, aluminum, or copper. Bring your field measurements or a sketch and we'll cut it to fit. No minimum order. Single-piece repair saddles are welcome.

A saddle (or cricket) is a raised metal diverter placed behind a penetration, curb, or chimney to direct water around the obstruction and toward drains or gutters. A scupper is an opening through a parapet wall fitted with a metal sleeve that allows water to drain through the wall off the roof surface.

Yes. We fabricate door pans and threshold pans to your exact rough opening width, pan depth, and dam height. Aluminum, galvanized steel, and stainless steel. Used on commercial and residential exterior door openings as a primary drainage detail at the threshold.

Yes. Send the roof scupper detail from your plan set, PDF or DWG, and we fabricate the scupper to the dimensions and material called out in the detail. If the detail leaves out a dimension we need, like the parapet wall thickness, we call before we cut.

The easiest way is to send us a sketch or drawing with dimensions. Overall size, slope, material, and gauge. You can also call us at (503) 914-0210 or email orders@pdx-panels.com with your project details and we'll get a quote back to you within 24 hours.
