Metal Siding Trim Fabrication for Contractors - Portland, OR

Metal siding trim is the sheet metal that finishes, transitions, and waterproofs the edges of a siding installation. It includes starter strips at the bottom of the wall, corner trim at building corners, J-channel around windows and doors, and specialty trim at transitions between siding materials, roof intersections, and horizontal breaks.

PDX Panels brake-forms siding trim to your exact profiles for siding contractors working with fiber cement, LP SmartSide, metal siding, stucco, and other cladding systems in the Portland, OR market. We don't do stock trim. Every piece is custom-fabricated to your dimensions and finish.

Trim Types We Fabricate

J-Channel: The most common window and door trim for most siding systems. We fabricate in any face width and leg depth to match your siding thickness. Available in galvanized, aluminum, and Kynar-coated in colors to match or contrast the siding.

Corner Trim: Outside and inside corner trim for building corners. Available in simple L-profiles, built-up two-piece corners, or more complex profiles with reveals. Face widths from 2" to 6" standard, custom widths available.

Starter Strip: The metal strip at the bottom course of the siding that establishes the reveal and provides a water-shedding termination at the foundation. Critical for preventing water entry at the sill.

Z-Bar (Horizontal Trim): The Z-shaped trim used at horizontal siding transitions. Where one siding material meets another, at floor lines on multistory buildings, or at the top of wainscoting. Available in standard Z-profiles and custom variations with drip noses.

Drip Edge: The trim that finishes the top of windows, doors, and other horizontal interruptions, directing water away from the wall face.

Frieze Board Trim: Metal trim at the top of the siding run where it meets the soffit or fascia. Custom profiles available.

Compatible Cladding Systems

Our siding trim is compatible with the full range of cladding materials used in Pacific Northwest construction:

Fiber Cement (James Hardie HardiePlank, HardiePanel, HardieShingle): We match Hardie's standard reveal dimensions and can match ColorPlus colors when specified in Kynar-coated steel or aluminum.

LP SmartSide and OSB-based siding: Similar profiles to fiber cement with attention to the specific groove and overlap dimensions of the LP product line.

Metal Siding (corrugated, standing seam, flat sheet): We can fabricate trim that integrates with the specific rib pattern and profile of most commercial metal siding products.

Stucco and EIFS: Trim at the perimeter of stucco assemblies, control joint caps, and transition flashings between stucco and other materials. See our stucco flashing page for details.

Cedar, hardie, and composite panel systems: Custom trim profiles for exposed wood and composite cladding products.

Ordering Siding Trim from PDX Panels

To get a quote, we need the profile you need (a drawing or description), the material and finish, and the linear footage. For standard trim profiles, turnaround is typically 3–5 business days.

We can also supply your siding trim as a complete package: all trim types for a single project, labeled by type and length, delivered in the sequence that matches your installation. This reduces your material management burden on complex projects with multiple trim profiles.

For repeat orders on long-running projects, multifamily or commercial work that spans months, we keep your profiles programmed and can turn repeat orders quickly.
