Bring us your drawings, your specs, your field measurements, or even a rough sketch, and we'll build it.

We are a brake press and CNC shop first. Custom work is not an exception for us. It's what we do every day. The majority of what we fabricate is custom to the project, custom to the site conditions, and custom to the architect's or contractor's specific requirements.

What We Mean by Custom Fabrication

Custom fabrication at PDX Panels means: your profile, your dimensions, your material, your finish. We don't pull from a catalog. We program your profile into our brake press and form it to your specifications.

Common custom fabrication requests we handle: non-standard coping widths for unusual parapet configurations, architectural reveal panels and feature elements for commercial facades, saddles for roof drainage at mechanical units and conduit, custom crickets for chimney and curb bypass, specialty scuppers for parapet drainage, door pans and threshold flashings to match existing conditions, angle iron and channel covers for exposed structural elements, and one-of-a-kind profiles for renovation and historic preservation work.

If you can draw it or describe it, we can build it. Our brake press operators have fabricated thousands of unique profiles over the years. There's very little that surprises us.

Materials and Gauges Stocked

We stock a broad range of sheet metal materials so we can start your custom order without waiting for material delivery in most cases.

Standard stock: 24-gauge and 22-gauge galvanized steel (G-90 coating), 0.032", 0.040", and 0.050" aluminum, 16-oz and 20-oz copper, 24-gauge and 22-gauge Kynar-coated steel in common architectural colors, Type 304 stainless steel.

We can source less common materials on request: heavier gauges, specialty alloys, or specific Kynar colors that aren't in our standard stock.

For custom panel work, we also carry 3mm and 4mm ACM sheet in white, silver, and custom colors, and have CNC routing capability for ACM panel fabrication.

From Drawings to Finished Parts

Our process for custom work: you submit a drawing or description with dimensions, material, and quantity. We'll come back with a quote within 24 hours for most requests. Once you approve, we schedule fabrication. Typically 3–5 business days for custom profiles, longer for larger or more complex orders.

For complex projects where multiple custom profiles are needed, we recommend working with us early in the project schedule. We can review your details, flag potential issues before they become field problems, and ensure your material is ready when your crew is ready.

We work from hand sketches, PDF drawings, AutoCAD DXF/DWG files, and field measurements. If you need help translating a field condition into a fabrication drawing, give us a call. We've done it a thousand times.

Commercial and Residential

PDX Panels fabricates custom sheet metal for commercial, multifamily, and residential projects. No project is too small. We'll fabricate a single custom piece for a residential renovation with the same care as a large commercial package.

For residential projects, common custom requests include: chimney caps, chimney flashings to match existing or irregular chimney geometries, valley flashing for complex roof geometries, custom skylight flashings, and decorative elements like copper cap flashing for columns or pilasters.

For commercial projects, we handle everything from roofing and envelope work to interior applications like custom ductwork covers, equipment screens, and architectural metalwork.
